DiabCareOnline®
A better metabolism for people with diabetes mellitus
Chronically ill patients often require a great deal of time in their care. Among these patients, who require intensive care and thus are time-consuming, are also those suffering from diabetes mellitus. In Germany, more than six million citizens have type 2 diabetes, another half million have type 1 diabetes – of which about 22,000 are children and adolescents.
Only intensive, systematic care and adequate therapy can prevent diabete-specific secondary complications. Heart diseases, dialysis, blindness and the dreaded diabetic foot syndrome, which can even lead to amputation, do not occur or only occur with a delay due to consistent metabolic management.
With DiabCareOnline, the diabetes patient does not have to go to his family doctor or hospital for constant monitoring. DiabCareOnline consists of a patient set, the EasyPen Server and the electronic patient file. The patient set is made available to the patient for a defined period of time and consists of a blood glucose meter, a digital pen, a diary and a mobile phone.
As usual, the patient measures his blood sugar at regular intervals and enters these values into the diabetic diary with the digital pen, the EasyPen. In the evening, he finally sets a transmission hook in his diary, whereby the blood sugar values and other vital parameters recorded by him are transmitted via mobile phone to the electronic patient file, where they are simultaneously available to the doctor. The patient file is equipped with automatic control functions so that the doctor is immediately informed if the values exceed a critical value and can intervene directly.
